Self Improvement Project

Our self-esteem is determined by our assessment of the successes and failures we have had throughout our lives. If we achieve our desires and satisfy our needs, our self-esteem will increase.

One way to improve our self-esteem is to change the parts of ourselves that we are not satisfied with and that is in our hands. We will explain a method to change those facets and to improve ourselves as people.

The steps are the following:

Pose a clear and concrete goal: We have to identify what we want to achieve. That goal must be sincere, personal (not imposed by others), realistic, divisible into smaller goals, and we must be able to measure the results we achieve.

Establish the tasks we must do to achieve it: Think about what you should do to achieve that goal and what efforts you should take to achieve it.

Organize the tasks: We have to establish a work plan according to which we carry out these tasks in order. The order can be temporary or due to the difficulty of the tasks. If we choose the second one, it is better to perform the easy tasks first because that will reinforce us and encourage us to continue.

Implement them and evaluate our progress: We must be committed to our project and put it into action, evaluating the progress we are making. If we ourselves are not capable, we can ask a family member or friend to help us and reinforce us.

Carrying out a self-improvement project will allow us to see our objective more clearly, it will make it more accessible by being divided into small goals and we will be proud of ourselves for the simple fact of trying and checking that we are capable of making improvements.

All this will raise our confidence in ourselves and our self-esteem will be reinforced.
